The Jupiter 1263LT XO Series Professional Trombone is designed to be a full sounding and free blowing trombone, while also focusing on optimum performance and response. A .547 inch bore and .563 bore throughout the F Attachment section give this horn an ease of play unmatched by most. The 1236L Series also features an 8.5-inch one-piece hand-hammered bell for outstanding projection plus a nickel silver slide crook for increased response. The three included leadpipes let the player find the perfect combination of bore and bell size.Jupiter's F attachment models come with either mechanical-linked tapered rotary or Thayer valves. While both come in the open wrap configuaration the Thayer valve tends to be the most open valve while the conventional rotary valve often lends itself to quicker articulation. It also may take a larger volume of air to make the Thayer valve "speak," though the sound is very natural once it does. The rotary valve offers more resistance and generally provides a darker sound.
